Trendsetter has started a new pattern series called Trendsetter Treasures and this is #1.
What is this all about?
So glad you asked!
Each month they will be offering a free pattern that we (as a yarn shop) might choose to bring in the yarn to make into kits.
This Cashmere Fine Flipped Box Cable Wrap is the first one.
It was designed by Barry Klein. The pattern is written in one size though there are modifications written there on how to make sizing adjustments.
The pattern is free and will be emailed with purchase of a kit. Or you can find the link for it to download yourself here.
The yarn that is used for this lovely piece is Lana Grossa Alta Moda Cashmere, a 80% Merino Fine/ 10% Cashmere/10% Polyamide, with 350 yards/50g ball. This is classified as a sport/DK weight yarn.
As written, the pattern calls for two skeins of a solid colorway of Lana Grossa Alta Moda Cashmere + one skein in a multi-color. You notice that the multi produces long color runs. This will make a scarf that is roughly 12" x 56".
Our kit is very close to the original colorways. Instead of Charcoal Tweed, we use Ash Tweed which is so close it requires reading the label to tell them apart.
So your kit will include two balls of #16 Ash Tweed + one ball of #104 the very Rainbow mix you see in the photographed scarf.
This solid color was chosen so that it "goes" with the multi with its long color runs but does not repeat any colors exactly, so the design stands out beautifully.
A size 7 needle is recommended for the scarf (not included in kit).
