This is such a unique way to knit a pair of mittens!

We have here Unicorn Tails, offered (via this web page) one at a time.

Choose four colorways:  one will be the main color and for that you need two tails.  Three will be the branching colors and for those you need just one each.

For the pattern, please be sure to get it directly from the designer on her Ravelry page hereWe have not figured the cost of the pattern into this; this is simply a way to get your choice of Unicorn Tails.

The Design

Here is what Carolyn Lisle  says about her Fade Out Mitts:

The Fade Out Mitts are inspired by the joy of mixing sock yarn leftovers in a new and interesting way!

These unconventional mitts are constructed thumb-first, including a gusset, then the hand is worked, followed by the fingers, and finally the wrist and cuff.

Watch these mitts transform as you knit them from just a few stitches into something truly unique and beautiful!

Yarn and Colorways

Our yarns are not the same as those Carolyn used in her original.  We describe the ones we offer below and show them in the inset photos on the top picture and again the photos below that.

To again quote Carolyn:  "To set up a fade for these mitts, you will need to choose a central colour that works with three other colours that “branch off” from it. You will need approximately 20 m / 22 yards per section per mitt of the “branching” colours, plus 90 (110) m / 100 (120) yards of the central colour: 210 (230) m / 230 (250) yards total."

We offer here Madeline Tosh's Unicorn Tails, 100% Superwash Merino Wool , with 52 yards per tail.

So we have put up here varying colorways of Unicorn Tails.  You need to select four colorways that sing to you -- you will need two tails of one and one each of three others.
