We got these at an awesome price as the yarn is being discontinued. We are passing the saving on to you. Just know that the chances of getting any more once these are gone is very very slim.
I quote Universal Yarns' website:
Classic Shades is a soft-to-the touch acrylic/wool roving style yarn featuring a stunning selection of colors which shade easily, one to the next. With a sheen similar to silk, finished garments take on a painterly quality perfect for sweaters and winter accessories --- plus, this worsted weight yarn is machine washable!>
Each skein is 30% wool + 70% acrylic, which makes for soft wear and easy care. There are 197 yards per 100g skein.
This yarn is, unfortunately, being discontinued. We nabbed the last two colorways we could. Interestingly, both have sort of neon colors -- bright and happy and perfect for banishing the winter blues!
1. Neon Lime Surprise is predominantly bright yellow green and purple.
2. Neon Kaleidoscope is more of a combo of many rainbow-ish hues. I see bright yellow, orgnae, lime, violet and blue. (Sorry, sold out)
We also came up with some neat-o pattern suggestions! :-) I really like the idea of using either yarn to make a quirky "something" for the young or the young-at-heart!
Take a look at this crocheted Winged Snake!
Or perhaps this knit Dragon's Tale Scarf.
I also really am taken by this crocheted Dragon Scarf.
Or this cute Dragon Scarf, knit this time,
Any design that makes use of those long color runs could be great in these. Perhaps....?
Here is a free (and intriguing) Drop-Stitch Scarf.
Or what has become a real knitting classic, Wingspan.
And another freebie, this one crochet, the really lovely Queen Anne's Lace Scarf.
Any of these would be tremendous fun to create!
