What a wonderful idea!
A great shawl design from Simone Kereit of OwlCat Knits, created using the yarns from five different yarn companies!
I'll let Simone tell you about Vegas Nights:
This fun shawl is the result of a collaboration between 5 yarn companies (and me), who all dyed a special mini skein to be joined in one shawl!
A collaborative project for the TNNA 2018 Winter show in Vegas, we wanted to tie the theme into some of the other things this city has to offer: bright lights, deep desert night skies (if one leaves the lights behind) and many incredible shows!
A top down shawl --- it is an updated take on the classic triangle shawl, with added width for easy wear-ability and fun stripe and drop stitch patterns creating a distinct Spotlight look.
Easy to knit and just the right size to try out new yarns and combine some bright colors with a hint of desert night!
Notice that the "real" colors of the yarn as shown in the second photo on this page shows some marvelous variations and brightnesses that somehow are missing from the photo of the shawl (which I just nabbed from Simone's Rav page).
Included in each kit is 5 mini skeins of fingering weight yarn as follows:
Color A: Sweet Georgia Yarns Tough Love Sock in Lupine (105 yds; 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon)
Color B: Lorna’s Laces Staccato Shepherrd Sock in Argon (107 yds; 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon)
Color C: Anzula Luxury Yarns Squishy in Misfit (96 yds; 80% Superwash Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon )
Color D: Oink Pigments Oink Targhee Sock in Desert Dessert (100 yds; 90% USA Superwash Targhee, 10% Nylon)
Color E: Knit One Crochet Too Mini Crock-O-Dye in Deep Plum (125 yds; 65% Superwash Wool, 20% Nylon, 15% Silk)
You will need US 6 (4 mm) min 32”/ 80 cm circular needle to hold large number of stitches, or size to obtain gauge (not included in kit)
This will give you a finished size of 48”/ 122 cm wingspan tip to tip, 17”/ 43cm center back depth
Each kit contains 1 mini skein from each company as well as a code for free download of the pattern (through 4/1)! What fun!
