This one is a real smile maker!

:-)

Created by Jennifer Dassau, the Venomous Tentacula is a beaded shawl pattern that is fun to make and great to wear -- such a wonderful concept; I find it delightful.

Jennifer writes: "Sideways garter stitch shawl with tentacular edging, and optional beads. This unusual shawl recalls Harry Potter’s Venomous Tentacula, a green, spikey plant with mobile vines that grab living prey, shoots that expel venom, and a poisonous bite."

Isn't that a wonderfully unique idea? The sideways edging is made by repeatedly binding off and casting on stitches, creating a pattern of “holes.”

Any yarn may be used and the designer gives suggestions in the pattern to ensure a symmetrical shawl and to prevent running out of yarn. The original was done in a sock yarn, 440 yards. And you will need 120 size 6/0 beads if you decide to add them (beads are added via the crochet hook method); more if you use more yardage.

Wow, can't you see it in black with silver beads? Or in white. Or in pink. Oh my, how about a Gradiance color set? Oh yum.....there are so many many possibilities.

A wonderful piece -- I love it!
