A really enticing design by Nim Teasdale named Viridine really seems to be a paean to springtime.

The Design (and here I quote Nim)

Viridine is a striped semicircular shawl overlaid with a cable motif that radiates from a central flower into a star shape.

This star is made of a series of wedges beginning at the nape of the neck, which gradually widen out worked the body, and then transition into a unique slipped stitch striped lace mesh. The design plays with changing the dominant colour to striking effect.

Yarn and Colorways

We do not present for this kit the same yarn as what Nim used.  You can see what we offer in the inset photo in the upper right-hand corner of the top picture and again below that.

Nim also writes:

This design is ideal for 2 solids/semi-solids, a gradient and solid, or a gorgeous pair of dappled gradients, as pictured here.

Her original green shawl (pictured here) used 685m in total, 350 of C1 (Pistazie, yellow-green) and 326m of C2 (Skarabaus, the gently variegated blue green) for the smaller size.

We chose two other yarn with colorways in the overall green family that look great together.  These greens are cooler than the ones Nim selected.

Each kit will consist of one skein of each of these:

1. Huasco Sock, handpainted of 75 % superwash wool + 25% nylon and with 433 yards (396m) per 100g skein in the colorway named White-Collared Jacobin

the colors are dyed on a white/cream base and consist of speckles and dashes of varying greens and grays.

2. Gusto Wool of 80% merino + 20% nylon, in the colorway simply numbered (#1045), a rich green teal, almost solid with some slight variations of tone.

Beads

No, Nim did not add beads to this pattern.  However,if you would like to add beads to your piece, we offer you that choice.  Where to put them will be entirely up to you.

We are offering that option via the drop-down menu labeled "Kits".  This would give you a 20g container of size 6/0s or roughly 240 beads to play with.

Tell me if you have a preference on color for your beads, tell me.  Otherwise I will choose for you.

The Pattern

We set up this kit with specially selected yarn and have not automatically included the pattern. We offer three options for getting the pattern.

1. If you prefer to get your pattern via Nim's Ravelry page here (and thus have it saved in your Rav library) then set the drop-down menu to "No Pattern Needed."

2. Or we can print out a hard copy for you and send it along with the kit.  That option is also via the drop down menu.

3. Alternatively, you can download a PDF pattern directly.
