The Design
Here is how Janelle describes this:
Join in the ... fun with this Missoni-inspired cowl, named for Vittorio Missoni who turned the fashion brand into a global powerhouse. ...This fun cowl comes in two sizes and uses up all the yarn in 24 colours of Koigu ‘Minis.’
Yarn and Colorways
We contacted the Koigu folks to find out how we could get some of these minis and ended up with three bags (about 300) of randomly colored fun little skeins.
Each mini is 100% merino wool and has about 11 yards (10 meters) per 3g skein-ette.
Janelle writes that she found that on average, there is more yardage in each. She designed the cowl to use up as much yarn as possible.
Each kit will consist of 24 mini-skeins -- a random assortment is currently available.
*****
You might knit the skeins in a totally random order (as seen in the top photo) or arrange what you have into a semi-fade (as other photos show). Your choice -- this is a tremendously fun project that comes out differently each time it is knit.
