What I'm Knitting: Exoskeleton Cowl by Shanna S. Cohen

I am currently knitting the rather simple but very intriguing Exoskeleton Cowl by Shanna S. Cohen:

I have a wonderful friend who just finished going through the nightmare of chemotherapy.  And though her hair is starting to grow back, it is still very short and her head gets very cold. She hates wearing hats.

So! This is a most ingenious cowl which uses short-rows to create a combination cowl and hood -- a cowl for warmer days, to be pulled up into a hood shape when the winds get a bit more nippy.

It mixes two weights of yarn, a DK weight with a lace weight. I chose a deep evergreen color of Cascade 220 (a light worsted/ heavy DK weight) plus a skein of Gedifra's Kid Suri in a multi-green

I am delighted with how it is coming together...
