What I'm Knitting: Zuzu's Petals by Carina Spencer

Continuing my trend of small yet interesting knits. I love creating hats and cowls and scarves and mittens -- I find they are great for learning new techniques, playing with new yarns, and simply having a fairly quick result that can be easily "gifted."

This is Zuzu's Petals by Carina Spencer.

I wanted to try out a delicious yarn from Noro, called Okunoshima, colorway #19, that is a blend of silk and wool and angora and mohair. The angora makes it absolutely a dream to feel and I am enjoying it tremendously so far. The colors change very gradually while staying within a neutral palette -- which is exactly what I want. The pattern makes for a lovely cowl that has the look of a shawlette and covers a lot of neck-and-chest for extra warmth come winter temps.

So far, so good. Big smiles....
