When The Leaves Fall is one of my favorite designs by LilyGo. I love how the combination of twisted stitches and other techniques combine to create such a textured beauty.
Here is what Lily writes:
When The Leaves Fall is a deep triangle shaped shawl worked from the bottom up. The pattern is worked on the both wrong and right sides.
Pattern includes charts and written directions. If you like to add beads to your shawl, I includes instructions on where to place the beads.
The Yarn and Colorways
What we have put together for these kits are not the same yarns or colorways that Lily used in her original piece. You can see what we have in the inset photos on the top picture and again below that.
I like how Lily's original shawl was knit in a slightly variegated tonal colorway. We have one here, though in Ella Rae Lace Merino. Each skein is 460 ayrds/ 100g of 100% superwash extrafine meino.
The colorway is called Moulin Rouge and is a vibrant beauty combining fuchsia and hot pink with smatterings of violet and purple. Really striking.
Now this design is written so that you can knit it in 6 different sizes, ranging from 383 to 1,198 yards.
We offer two sizes here -- you can get a kit with one skein of Ella Rae (460 yards), thus giving you enough for the smallest size, or you can get a kit with two skeins of Ella Rae (2 x 460 = 920 yards), containing enough for small, medium, large, or extra large.
Obviously, the two-skein kit will be a bit more expensive; you will see the addition listed on the drop-down menu under the top photo.
Each kit will include more than is needed of beads for that size.
In other words, if you choose a one-skein kit, you will get either 6/0 beads or 5/0 triangle beads numbering at least 268.
If you choose the two-skein kit, you will get enough beads for the extra large size, which is 492.
Let me know if you have a preference on bead color; otherwise I will choose for you.
Note that the kit will not automatically include the pattern.
I know many knitters prefer to get it directly as a PDF file of the pattern from Lily via her Ravelry web page. In that case, set the Pattern drop-down menu to "No Pattern Needed."
This will save your pattern in your Ravelry library and ensure you will immediately get any updates issued.
Alternatively, if you would like a printed copy (23 pages), please make sure the drop-down menu is set to that.
We also can email the pattern to you via email (just be aware that it is not automatic; I have to manually send it to you and generally do that right before shipping your kit).
