Another stunning pattern by Nim Teasdale, Wholehearted is (to quote her):

"...a flowing semi-circular shawl with a textured pattern of all over hearts which grow and expand toward the outer edge of the shawl.

It was inspired by Konane, an inspiringly kind friend who loves hearts, and by Brene Brown’s The Gifts of Imperfection, and I offer it as an invitation to reflect on ways to embrace your own wholeheartedness."

Yarn and Colorway

Nim writes that this design is suited for anything from heavy lace to fingering yarn, in solid, semi-solid, gradient or subtle speckle varieties.  What is needed is about  700-900m (that's 766 - 984 yards).

We did not bring in the exact yarn that Nim used but instead an intriguing cotton from Skacel.  Concentric Cotton is a heavy fingering/sport weight yarn is made of 100% Pima Cotton with over 900 yards per 200g cake.

You can see our yarn in the inset photo on the top picture and again below that.

The colorway is based on 2020's Color of the Year and is called Kind of a Big Teal.   It starts with a very pale blue (almost white) and increases the intensity of the hue as you work into the cake, to a light blue, a teal, and then a dark teal.

Quite striking.

Beads?

No, the pattern doesn't specifically call for beads but Nim wrote me that beads could easily be incorporated.

If you would like to add beads to your piece, we offer that option via the drop-down menu above labeled "Kits".  You'll get a 35g container of size 6/0 beads (about 420 beads).

If you have a preference on bead color, tell me.  Otherwise I will choose for you.

The Pattern

Note that the kit will not automatically include the pattern. The cost has not been added to the kit and we offer three options for getting it.

You can get the pattern directly from Nim on her Ravelry page.  This is a good way to go if you like to have patterns stored in your Ravelry library.  It also means that you will automatically get any updates. In that case, set the drop-down menu to No Pattern Needed.

If you prefer, however, the pattern can be printed out -- the drop-down menu offers this option.

Or I can email it to you, if there is some reason you would prefer that.  This is not automatic however; I generally do this on the day that I send you the kit.

BTW, be aware that this pattern is charts only, not written out.
