Another great design for knitting with the double-knitting technique.
Personally I find that learning with a hat or a cowl works best as then one can concentrate on the new concept of the technique itself, before tackling things like smooth edges (there are none in a hat or cowl) and reversing the chart for return rows (again, none).
Again, here is a great page for resources, to learn from.
Wild Waves Hat is a design by Gry Heidi Nordhagen.
The pattern itself must be gotten from Gry on her Ravelry page.
A cozy hat that will surely keep your head warm this winter. And the hat will surely turn heads, too! Hat has only one size that should fit a medium to large head.
Pattern requires DK weight yarn in two colors, about 100 m of each color.
Well, I realize that spring is coming and so the "winter" part of that is moot, but winter will come again, and believe me you will welcome the amazing warmth of a double-knit hat.
Our kits do not include the exact yarn that Gry used in her original. You can see our yarns in the inset photo on the top picture and again below that. The other photos are of her hat, there to show you the design.
Did I mention, btw, that this is completely and absolutely reversible? You can see both "right" sides in the photos we show here with Gry's permission.
The yarn we chose is from Juniper Moon Farms, their Findley DK, a 50% merino/ 50% silk with 131 yards (119m) per 50g ball.
Thus one ball of each color will give you more than enough for this hat and that is what each kit will include.
Mermaid is a lovely cool tea.
Sagefield is a delicate mint.
Reminder: The pattern itself must be gotten from Gry on her Ravelry page.
