Oh this is lovely!

By Chrissy of Left Side Knits, here is a most intriguing crescent shaped shawl to make with fingering weight yarn.

Here is how Chrissy describes Winged Samara:

"Winged Samara is a crescent shaped shawl knit in one piece from the center-top outward. It is shaped by all the increasing being done on the edging. With both charts and written instructions, knitters are able to choose the most comfortable way to follow the pattern.

"The pattern name comes from the proper term for a maple wing, which always sparks a favorite childhood memory - my Grandfather & I, splitting those wings and sticking them to the end of our noses. Can you see them in the stitch motif?"

Yum!

Yarn -- you will need approximately 575 yards of fingering weight yarn - Testers used anywhere from 424 yards to 650 yards total, depending on gauge.

Finished Size is 48” across (opening wider because it was blocked with a curve) by 15” down spine.

This is most intriguing -- a lovely piece, no reservations.

P.S. We are offering here a hard copy of the pattern, all pages printed and slid into a sheet protector.
