Herzstuck (Kit A): even though only one ball will be included in your kit, we show two here as different balls start of different points of the colorway and two show the colors better.

This unique design by Ute Nawratil really caught my imagination!

What we offer here is the yarn (and possibly beads) needed to make the version you see on this page.

You must get the pattern from Ute's Ravelry page.

The Design

Here is what Ute writes about Wunderwellen

I called this pattern „Wunderwellen“ („wonder waves“) because it shows completely different results, depending on the yarn you use. My initial intention was to create a pattern for self-striping yarns that leads to scarf with horizotal waves all over it.

And I wanted it to be reversible – I just like that better in scarves.

Then I found out that I got a whole new picture when I used yarn with a solid color or a long gradient. Because then, the vertical waves became really prominent. My second example, with lace yarn, made for an easy, airy wrap.

The Yarn and Colorway

Ute knit two samples, one using Lang Mille Colori Baby, a fingering weight yarn with short-ish color repeats and one using Schoppel's Laceball with rather loooooooong color runs.

Kit A  is the exact colorway of the Schoppel's Laceball that you see in the photos here.  The colorway is called Herzstuck (the literal translation per Google is Heart Stuck).

The colors are warm, from a red into a red-orange, into with varying taupes.  Striking and a wonderfully bright melody.

Kt B is a cooler colorway for those whose tastes run to the blue and purple families. Also Laceball, this colorway is called Fliederduft (which translates as: Lilac Scented).

(Sorry, sold out)

All that is needed to make a wrap such as Ute made is one ball and that is what you kit is composed of.

Beads Perhaps?

And as another thought: if you would like to add beads to this beauty, we are offering that option.

If you choose it (via the drop-down menu under the top photo on this page) you will get 20 grams of 6/0 beads (roughly 240 beads) chosen to work well with this colorway.

Where you put the beads would be very much up to you. I am eyeing a smattering of the yarn overs as one possibility.

The Pattern

The pattern includes instructions for both versions of this wrap.

It’s a simple pattern repeat, over 13 rows.

Reminder: make sure to get the pattern from Ute's Ravelry page
