Another really lovely piece that is perfect for singing a song of summertime. Yellow Fields by Mia Rinde sings of life and growth.
Please be sure to get the pattern from the designer on her Ravelry page here. What we offer is some lovely yarn plus the chance to get some beads to go with it.
Here is what Mia writes:
Fields filled with grains and flowers waving in the wind was the inspiration for this agricultural shawl, the textured body of crops growing and beautiful flowers along the edge. Let’s sow your own field!
Yellow Fields is a crescent-shaped lace patterened shawl. Instructions are charted. It has lots of intriguing stitchwork and is sure to keep your attention.
The Yarn and Colorways
Mia also says that Yellow Fields requires 400-600 meters of blockable fingering weight yarn and is easily adaptable in size. Note that we are not offering the exact yarn that she used. You can see what is in our kits in the inset photo on the top picture and again below that.
Our yarn is from Manos, their Alegria, a 75/25 blend of superwash merino/ nylon, with 445 yards (405m)/ 100g.
The colorway is called Tumeric and it is the glorious gold of sunflowers and goldenrods. Truly the sun come down to earth!
As the shawl you see in this photo required the equivalent of two skeins to knit, we are including two skeins of Alegria in Tumeric in each kit. If you would prefer to make a smaller size and only want one skein, just let me know and I'll work out a special kit just for you.
If you would like to add beads to this design, there are lots of places they could look great. Bear in mind that the designer didn't use them and so the placement is up to you.
If you would like, we have a drop-down menu labeled "Kit" which allows you to simply get the yarn alone or to add a 20g container of size 6/0s to your order (that gives you about 240 beads).
