Another quite striking piece from Catie that really is wonderful for the holiday time or any time of year you want some extra color and bling in your life!
Catie writes, "Is it jewelry or is it a scarf?
"Call it what you will, it's Shimmering! It's Gorgoues!
"Slip it on over any top for instant glamour and style!"
The piece makes use of silver lined beads in the colors of the rainbow dramatically sitting on a black DK weight yarn -- though I think it could look marvelous in a single color of bead against just about any background yarn.
The heavily beaded jewel piece in the center is actually a loop for the scarf end to go though -- take a look at the photo below, showing it lying flat.
You will need 400 size 6/0 beads or larger to fit on the yarn you select, about 120 yards of a DK weight yarn and size 7 (US) knitting needles (plus a third extra one) to get a gauge in garter stitch of 18 stitches/ 38 rows to 4".
