Another beauty from the Dream in Color Pop-Up Club.
All of the skeins are dyed in Smooshy Cashmere, a fingering weight yarn made up of 70% superwash merino + 20% cashmere + 10% nylon, with 400 yards per 4 ounce skein.
The special colorway for this month, is called Acrid.
Here is how the dyers describe it:
This bold blend of electric turquoise and fiery orange captures the raw energy of a summer storm rolling over sun-scorched terrain.
Wow.
Blue and orange are complimentary colors that enhance each other and make for a very striking contrast. This colorway is varying tones of turquoise (lights and mediums and darks) plus vibrant sorbet colors -- I see apricot and peach and a bit of lemon too.
If you look at the shawl design on this page you will see it as it was combined with a gentle soft colorway called Spoil the Littles (a soft sea green, an almost-solid) to create the lovely new Garden Shawl by Jenny Noto you see in these photos.
Pattern is free with purchase! You will get a coupon code to obtain the pattern via Ravelry (here again is the link).
Here is a bit about the Garden Shawl design -- I quote the designer here:
Inspired by The Secret Garden, this half-pi shawl tells a story from seeds to bold blossoms. The use of simple stitches create a visually stunning motif in two contrasting colors, with just one color used at a time. The shawl can be made longer with more rows added before the final border and bind off. A picot edging adds decorative charm like the points of a fence.
