Flower Power is a really pretty special design by Ellene Warren, a crocheted scarf that is full of color and movement and beads!

Here is what Ellene writes:

Worked lengthwise in strips, each row of linked, crocheted flowers begins and ends with dangling flower fringe on this funky and colorful scarf.

Make it extra long to fold in half and loop around your neck like a cascading jabot of flowers or shorten it to a more traditional length - either way you will enjoy the cheerful whimsy of this unique accessory.

Yarn and Colorways

Ellene used a Kid Mohair blend for her original (a 70% mohair/ 30% nylon blend with 245 yards/ 25g), and recommended about 500 yards.

We took a look at the specifications of the original yarn (since discontinued) and decided to go for a delicious fluffy alpaca blend for our kits.

You can see our yarn in the inset photo on the top picture on this page and again below that.

The yarn is from The Alpaca Yarn Company and is called Halo Watercolors.  Made of 78% brushed suri alpaca and 22% nylon, each 25g skein gives 257 yards.  So you can see that for yardage and weight it is very similar to Ellene's original with the advantage of alpaca being a more comfortable feel.

Two skeins ( 2 x 257 yards = 514 yards) will make up each kit.

We offer you the choice of two colorways.

1. Abstract is mostly in the fuchsia "family", with some lighter and some darker hues so you will find pinks with wine along with deep purples.

2. Nebula is a cool blend with predominantely blues including turquoise, true blue, and navy alsong with some teals, pinks, lilac, lime, and even a bit of rust.

Beads

Ellene suggests as an option about 70 crystal beads that will be attached via a sewing needle.

We will be including in each kit a bit more than that as size 6/0 glass beads.  Thinking they don't have to be crystal (clear), I will select a color that works well with your yarn.

If you have a preference on bead color, tell me.  Otherwise I will choose for you.

Pattern

The pattern is not automatically included in this kit and the cost has not been factored in.

I have quite a few professionally printed patterns to offer with this kit.

However, if you prefer getting a pdf via Ravelry here, that is also an option.
