This marvelous scarf design, Lindal Turritella by Wöldten plays with short rows in a most intriguing manner.

The designer writes, "While this pattern is recommended for experienced knittters, adventurous beginners will enjoy the fluid nature of the design and once wraps + turns have been mastered, it will become an enjoyable project and statement piece for your collection."

Get the pattern directly from the designer on her Ravelry page here What we have put together are yarns that will work beautifully.

The Design

Again, I quote Ona, the designer, here:

The Lindal Turritella Scarf is part of my Lindal Collection focusing on short-row knitting techniques and highlighting the way color uniquely pools within the shapes of this design, which is well suited to self-striping and gradient yarn.

This pattern is also part of my Systema Naturae Collection and eBook. All of the designs from this collection are inspired by the beautiful organic shapes of seashells.

Turritella comes from Latin turrittus meaning “turreted” or “towered” and the diminutive suffix ~ella. A genus of medium-sized sea snails with tightly coiled shells, whose overall shape is basically that of an elongated cone.

Yarn and Colorways

We do not offer the same yarns as the designer used for her original.  Instead we found some beauties from Trendsetter -- you can see these in the inset photo on the top picture on this webpage and again below that.

Gianna is a DK weight yarn with 198 yards/ 50g, made up of 80% bio cotton + 15% merino + 5% cashmere.  Two skeins will be included in each kit.

The colorway we have here is called Vermont and features bright color runs in turquoise, navy, pink and a sort of golden sage.

For the solid (or almost-solid, actually) yarn is Trendsetter's Woolstar, a 100% wool with 380 yards/ 100g.  One skein will be included in each kit.

This colorway is called Fanfare and is a rich almost-solid teal.
