This is a beautiful design by Jem Arrowsmith of Under the Olive Tree.  Called the Love Me Do shawl, it has lovely glistening beads and is a delight to knit (and wear)!

The Design

To quote Jem:

Knit a little bit of romance with this adorable beaded shawl. Whether you knit for someone special or for yourself this shawl is ready to bring smiles your way!

Worked to a crescent shape, the main body of the shawl is worked in simple stockinette stitch and beaded heart shapes define the lace border.

The pattern is written and charted and has been professionally tech edited and test knit.

Yarn and Colorway

The original used between 400 - 440 yards (366 - 402 m) of fingering weight yarn -- our kits are not of the same yarn that Jem used.  You can see ours in the inset photo on lower right-hand corner of the top picture and again below that.

We have put together a kit using Sulka Legato, 60% merino, 20% alpaca, 20% silk.  You can imagine how delicious this feels!  Each skein has 274 yards/ 50g so we are including two in each kit.

This is a rich almost-solid fuchsia/wine colorway named Geranimum and if you are familiar with those flowers you will see why.

Beads

All that is needed for beads to turn this into a truly amazing piece -- 406 x size 6 beads, either threaded onto the yarn before casting on or added using a 0.75mm crochet hook as you go along

The bead color could be a dramatic contrast to the yarn (my preference here) or a color that might blend more in with the yarn colorway.  If you have a preference about bead color,  let me know as you check out via the "Comments" section.  Otherwise I will choose for you.

The lace section is where you will be adding your beads and the pattern includes a link to a video tutorial on how to add beads with a crochet hook.
