A wonderful addition to Susan Pandorf's Fellowship of the Ring Collection, this stunning cowl can be made in two sizes and -- dare I say it? --- fit for a king.
9 (18) inches tall by 20 inches circumference
MATERIALS: 250(500) yards worsted weight yarn
size 5 (US) 24 inch circular needles (or double points/magic loop)
You will also want to have on hand a cable needle & stitch marker.
Gauge: 7 stitches = 1 inch
The pattern contains both charted & written directions.
Susan has included directions in the pattern for completing a shorter cowl, as might be worn by a ranger for warmth whilst in the wilds of Middle Earth, or a taller hood, which can be pulled up to disguise your identity while loitering about in the Prancing Pony. :-)
Either way, Strider is a quick little knit, done up in worsted weight yarn.
The pattern is a fun little cable/lace combination that adds great depth & texture to the piece. Susan recommends at least a semisolid yarn to properly show off the pattern.
We will be putting together some very neat kits for this but I didn't want to wait to offer it. A wonderful carry-along project, perfect for gifting (or keeping).
