Here is a kit for another one of the amazing crocheted designs by Astrid Schandy .
Last week we offered a kit for a simpler pattern, Astrid's Lighthouse and Fish Potholder, using only two colors of yarns.
This week we present a kit for a very slightly more complex design: Astrid's 4 Fishy Potholders, again a marvelous summer project!
(Anyone who already purchased the earlier kit, see the note at the end of this web page for a special offer.)
***Make sure to get the pattern directly from Astrid on her Ravelry page here. What we offer in this kit are the yarns as described below.***
The Design
Here is what Astrid writes:
By popular demand, here are 4 potholders matching the School of fish blanket!
Done in Interlocking crochet, these 4 potholders are fun, quick to make, great stash busters and make the perfect gift. And of course, make the perfect potholder (as long as you don’t use acrylic yarn which may melt if in contact with heat). The pattern comes with extra instructions on the technique, as well as charts and full written instructions. Also, a photo tutorial on how to get started and how to make the colour changes, as well as which colours I used and amounts of each.
If you are new to the technique and would like to see some videos, you can find tutorials on my YouTube channel: Astrid’s Interlocking crochet YouTube channel
Yarn and Colorways
Unfortunately, I do not have access to the same yarns as Astrid used in her originals. However, I was able to find a very good substitute in Laines du Nord's Baby Soft. Each ball is made up of 50% Organic Cotton + 50% Soybean Azlon and has 147 yards/ 50g.
You can see our yarns and colorways in the lower righthand corner of the top photo on this page and again below that.
When you read the pattern, you will note that Astrid used 6 colors of yarn. Our kits include 5. We weren't able to get an orange (our supplier was all out) and so you will have to substitute another of these colors for that one.
The kit will include one ball each of:
White
Azure (blue)
Red
Marigold (golden)
Bottle (green)
Each kit will consist of 5 balls, one of each of the above colorways.
Note: If you purchased one of our other potholder kits last week with white and blue and have enought leftover so that you only want the additional three colors here, contact me and I will set you up with a special kit.
