This is the latest in our continuing adventure with Bead Soup Bracelets.
Here was the first of our Bead Stew bracelets, where we concentrated on the large, chunkier beads, with intriguing shapes and finishes.
The kit consists of 6/0s and 8/0s and daggers and 4x6mm drops, and 6/0 beads, as well as a few of our 9mm moon faces in topaz/gold inlay. The thread used is the Tapestry Braid -- if any tiny beads are there and don't work with this thread, there are plenty of larger ones that will, so simply discard them. You will have way more beads than you'll need so you can pick and choose what appeals.
The clasp is the Aztec clasp that we like so much. It is of a lead-free antiqued gold color. This is a Bali-style cast toggle clasp with the ring at 17mm and the bar 20mm. (It is possible that your clasp might be different -- it will be gold tone and roughly the same size.)
The colors here are striking! Depending on stock, we have included anything that appealed and had a golden base. You might find bronze and copper iris and topaz and dark topaz and gold and dark gold -- a wonderful collection that glows! The end-result is stupendous -- a densely packed bracelet that looks like you are wearing Rock Candy on your wrist.
The thread color we used in the one pictured here is a dark metallic brown. This exact color is no longer being made though we do have some threads that are very close in tone. We also like any of the gold threads with the bead mix. Actually, this bracelet is so packed with beads that you can barely see the thread color at all except at each end.
For those unfamiliar with these bracelets, all of our Bead Soup bracelets are knit, using thread and a vast array of beads. The knitting needles are not included in the kit but figure on using size 0's, though gauge is simply a matter of personal preference and finding a look you like.
We are really really pleased with this one.
The clasp you get may very well be different but will work with the overall look.
The pattern is the same as for all of the Bead Soup and Bead Stew Bracelets -- you have the option to get it or not via the drop-down menu.
Note that the kit will not automatically include the pattern. We offer three options. I know some of you might already have made other bracelets from us that are made along the same lines, the only real changes being the beads and the colors. If you feel you do not need another pattern, simply choose "No Pattern Needed."
If you would like a printed copy, please make sure the "Pattern" drop-down menu is set to that.
We also can email the pattern to you, though I have to do it manually and usually send it right before I mail the kit (please be patient). Just make sure that drop-down menu is set as you would like before you check out.
