A new sock pattern from Jackie E-S! There is always excitement around here when Jackie comes out with a new pattern. No exception for these!
Here is how she describes these:
"Lace, ribbed textures and beads combine for the look of Tartan plaid in these handsome calf-high socks topped with spiffy Scotch garters (optional)."
Using 375 yards of fingering weight sock yarn and 8/0 beads, you can create a wonderful concoction that mirrors the Argyle socks of old yet with a brand-new twist.
You will want about 25 grams (roughly 860 beads) of the main color and about 10 grams (388) of a secondary color. Jackie used Silver lined Red and Silver lined Gold beads for the one you see here to the right (done in Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Yarn color called Black Watch) and Transparent Black and Transparent Red beads for the one in the photo below (with another lorna's Laces Sock Yarn, this time in the color called Aslan).
This will work beautifully in your choice of yarn and two beads to contrast. Use your imagination and create something that is uniquely yours.
Email us if you would like suggestions for either yarns or beads and if you would like to set up a special bead packet for your choice of yarn.
And have a wonderful time with these!
