We have put together a series of bracelets based around the Birthstones of the year.  Supplies go in and out of stock but right now we are able to offer this lovely and unique bracelet kit once more.

Here we present February's:  a wonderful play on the semi-precious stone amethyst, put together with some real amethysts as well as some other beauties.

Based loosely around our Bead Stew Bracelets, this one is knit with wire for a quite unusual look.  And features some real amethysts, some as nuggets and crudely cut, some more finely cut into faceted beads.

The base of the bracelet is a very flexible wire -- originally we chose the Flexrite 49.  The one that you see on these pages was knit with their "silver" wire.

This wire is pretty easy to work with and makes a beautiful bracelet. Actually made up of 49 very thin thin thin strands of steel all together into one wire, it has quite a lot of flexibility which means it is not a pain to knit with.   Flexrite uses state of the art micro wire technology to produce a wire that is strong, soft, and flexible. The difference is amazing -- it is actually closer to knitting with fiber than with wire. And I find it to be far more comfortable to wear than regular wire.

What beads we found!

We have put together a mix of real semi-precious Amethyst --various sizes and types of amethyst -- a few light, some dark, all with that wonderful richness of the true semi-precious stone. This gives a mix of purples and lavenders that just look superb together.

With it we have added Fire polish Crystals, some in lovely amethyst colors and some dark black with amethyst and iris highlight, which adds some suggestions of blues to the overall color mix -- subtle and lovely and quite light-catching. Plus various other unusual beads designed to highlight the rest.

We love the look.

Each kit contains everything you will need to make the bracelet as you see it here (except the needles). We used size 2 US needles  -- metal seems to be easier to work on wire than bamboo but it is really your choice. If you would like the spaces between the stitches to be smaller, then go down to size 0s -- that will look wonderful as well. We include a 30 foot spool of the wire, more than enough semi-precious stones and crystals and beads to make one bracelet, and the pieces for finishing the ends and adding a clasp (as you see in the photo).

The clasp itself is a silver-toned magnetic one -- making for ease in putting on and taking off, though it might look somewhat different than the one you see in the photos here.

Supplies are somewhat limited -- really and truly. It was a bit of a hunt to find these amethyst beauties and I am not sure how easily I can replenish. So consider that each of these bracelets might be rather rare and unique.

We think you will be very pleased.

Note that the kit will not automatically include the pattern. We offer three options:

I know some of you might already have made other bracelets of ours that are made along the same lines -- any of the Crystals and Wire bracelets we have carried in the past have used the same basic design pattern, the only real changes being the beads and the colors. If you feel you do not need another pattern, simply choose "No Pattern Needed."

If you would like a printed copy, please make sure the "Pattern" drop-down menu is set to that.

We also can email the pattern to you, though I have to do it manually and usually send it right before I mail the kit (please be patient). Just make sure that drop-down menu is set as you would like before you check out.
