An absolutely gorgeous new beaded shawl by Anne-Lise Maigaard, Blooming Dahlia is something to treasure.

The Design

Here is what Anne-Lise writes:

The Blooming Dahlia pattern is inspired by the many Dahlia blooming in my garden. The pattern is beautifully airy & designed with your choice of 2 knitting shapes: circle or crescent.

Yarn and Colorways

We were not able to get the same yarn as what Anne-Lise used in her original and our colorways are significantly different.  Take a look at the inset photos on the top picture and again below that to see what we selected.

Following her data for making the crescent shape, we brought in Marina from Manos del Uruguay, a lovely lace weight yarn of 100% superwash merino with 874 yds / 800m per 3.5 oz / 100g.

Which means that one skein should give you enough yardage to make the crescent version of this shawl.  If you want to make the circle shape, two kits would be needed.

We offer your choice of two colorways, both almost-solids:

1. Hueso is basically cream, a natural hue that will show the stitch work and beads beautifully.

2. Dragon Fruit is a bright pink fuchsia, perfect to herald the coming springtime. Again, it is enough of a solid colorway so as to show up the stitchwork and beads very well indeed.

Beads

Beads are optional but we are including them in each kit.

If you bead all of the marked stithes, it requires 1,211 beads; Anne-Lise suggest size 8/0.  You also might like to bead the picots, in which case you will need an additional 37 larger beads -- for this she suggests 6/0s.

Each kit will include a 35g container of size 8/0s which will give you about 1,400 beads + more than enough size 6/0 beads in either a matching color or a complimentary one.

If you have a preference on bead color, let me know.  Otherwise I will choose for you.

The Pattern

Note that the kit will not automatically include the pattern and the cost of the pattern has not been added. The pattern includes data for both shapes.

I know some knitters prefer to get it directly as a PDF file of the pattern from Anne-Lise via her Ravelry web page. In that case, set our Pattern drop-down menu to "No Pattern Needed" as you will be getting it elsewhere.

Alternatively, if you would like a printed copy, please make sure the drop-down menu is set to that.

We also can offer the pattern as zipped PDFs.

Just make sure that both drop-down menus are set as you would like before you check out.
