A wonderfully fun hat, perfect for this time of year!

The Design

Here is what Stephanie writes:

Why don’t you ever see skeletons fighting with each other?
They just don’t have the guts.

These skeletons are joining hands in friendship to celebrate my favorite season. Combining the macabre with the sweet, this hat is spine-chilling, fun and downright humerus. Happy Halloween!

Boneyard Sweethearts is knit seamlessly in the round from the bottom up. This is a stranded colorwork design. This pattern is charted. It includes a chart for skeletons with ghosts OR skeletons with hearts. Pick your poison.

Yarn and Colorways

Our yarn is not the same as what Stephanie used for her original hat.  She advises either fingering weight or DK weight (both versions are included in your pattern purchase) -- we have chosen to kit up fingering weight yarn.

What is needed is:

C1: 50 (55, 60) yds / 46 (50, 55)m (brim)
C2: 105 (115, 120) yds / 96 (105, 110) m (background)
C3: 65 (70, 75) yds / 60 (64, 69) m (white)

NOTE: These yardages do not include the pom pom. You will need an additional 35 yards / 32 meters of yarn to create your pom pom.

Our Kits:

C1: from Araucania, Nuble made up of 75% wool + 25% silk and with 272 yards/ 50g in the colorway called Cornerstone, a silvery pale blue-gray. 

C2: Again Nuble, this time in the colorway called Carmine, a deep rich red.

C3: Katia's United Socks, 75% wool + 25% nylon and with 100 yards/ 25g in a pure and simple White. 

(There will be plenty of extra yarn for making a pompom either with Cornerstone or with Carmine, your choice.)
