The Design
Here is what Natalia writes:
This colorful shawl uses a variety of techniques: modular, short rows, and mosaic knitting - you'll never get bored. The main part is knit with self-striping yarn; make sure to use the brightest skein from your stash!
Yarn and Colorways
We put together different yarns than the ones Natalia used for her original. The top photo on this page shows our Kit B on the upper left, our Kit A on the upper right and one of Natalia's original shawls in the middle bottom.
I wanted to check out how the Uneek Fingering yarn from Urth would work with this design as the self-striping yarn. It has medium-ly long color runs and thought it would look perfect for this design. And their Harvest and Monokrom colorways work out to be perfect for the contrast colors.
Btw, each of these yarns are 100% Superwash Extrafine Merino with 435 yards (400m)/100g.

Kit A: (kit consists of one skein of each)
Our marvelous test knitter, Sonya, chose three warm-ish colorways,
1. Uneek Fingering 3013: She wrote to me back in May, "Uneek 3013, which reminds me of the current view outside my office window, the barks of trees, the young tender leaves, last year's dried grass"
2. Indigo in Harvest Fingering as the first contrast color; think of a rich blue sky perhaps for the perfect spring day. .
3. Buckthorn, again in Harvest Fingering, as the complimentar color, bringing back a bit of gold to the whole.

Kit B: (kit is composed of one skein of each)
These colorways were chosen by the amazing Diane, to create a cooler and more rainbow-y look.
1. Uneek Fingering in the colorway named Harmony, with just about all of the colors of the spectrum.
2. Thuja (black) in Harvest Fingering
3. Monokrom 3055 which is a tonal blend of royal purples.
