Clarisse is a beaded necklace creation from Cynthia Spencer's Really Clear Designs.  It uses DK weight yarn and about 177 size 6/0 or 5/0 beads to create a simple piece that is really lovely.

Make sure to get your pattern from the designer on her Ravelry page here.  What we have put together is a kit for making this, including beads, yarn, and clasp.

Here is what Cynthia writes about the design:

“Clarisse” is a girl’s name meaning “bright,” or “famous.” There is no doubt that you’ll feel both bright and famous while wearing this beaded necklace!

The first time you see beads, you may worry that you can’t do anything like that. It looks so difficult!

Not at all. In fact, it’s easy.

This pattern will take you through the process step by step—and in just four rows of knitting, you’ll have a pretty little necklace.

It is one of the fastest gifts you could ever knit.

Yarn and Beads

We do not offer the exact yarn or beads that Cynthia used in her originals.  You can see our selection in the inset photo on the top picture and again below that.

The yarn is Juniper Moon's Findley DK, of 60% wool + 40% silk so you can be sure it will feel wonderful.  Each ball has 131 yards, more than double what you will need for each necklace, so you can easily make it larger if that suits your taste.

The colorway is Fresco, a lovely creamy ecru.

For beads, all that is needed is 177 beads, or more if you decide to go longer than a choker length.  We will give you roughly 300 beads (25g) of size 6/0s

If you want more than that or a different size or shape, contact me and as long as we have stock we'll set you up.

We put together two bead mixes. Choose from the drop-down menu under the top picture on this page.

The one you see on the right side of the photo is called Serenity.  The beads are all cool color-lined crystals.

The mix on the left is Peacock Garden and has rich golds, turquoise, blue, and teal mostly,

Each kit will consist of one ball of Findley DK plus 25g (roughly 300 size 6/0) of the bead mix you choose plus one clasp (gold tone with Peacock Garden and silver tone with Serenity unless you tell me differently).
