Frozen Leaves is a beautiful beaded shawl by Lily Go.

The Design

Here is what Lily writes:

Frozen Leaves is a generous semi-circular shaped shawl worked from the top down.

It has lots of beads if you want them. It also has quite a lot of nupps, but you can omit them if you don’t like making them.

Pattern includes charts and written directions. If you would like to add beads to your shawl, I include instructions on where to place the beads.

Yarn and Colorway

We do not offer the same yarn or colorway that Lily used for her original.  You can see our yarn in the inset photo on the top picture on this page and again below that.

There are two sizes and thus two yarn amounts suggested for this design:

Yardage needed for size 1 (2): 550 (880) yds / 500 (800) m.

Finished Sizes (Relaxed)
Wingspan: 53 (65)” / 135 (165) cm
Depth: 16 (20)” / 40 (50) cm

Our yarn is from Freia Fibers, one of their huge Yarn Bombs with 860 yards (786m) per 200g ball. So you have very close to enough yarn for either size, dependin on gauge. Quite a few of the shawls shown on the project pages used less than than this for a very substantial piece.

The yarn itself is Single ply 100% US Merino Wool (mulesing-free).

The colorway we chose is Metropolis.  Its loooooooong color runs go from a rich teal into green into indigo into violet. Or vice versa, depending on how the ball was wound.

Beads

Beads are optional but will be included in each kit.  Lily lists as needed 750 (1100) pcs size 6/0 seed beads.

We will include roughly 100g size 6/0 beads or about 1,200 beads.

If you have a preference for bead color, tell me.  Otherwise I will choose for you.

The Pattern

Note that the kit will not automatically include the pattern nor has the cost been factored in.

I know some knitters might already have this or prefer to get it directly as a PDF file of the pattern from Lily via her Ravelry web page. This is the choice that will get you a copy in your Ravelry library.

Or if you would like a printed copy, please make sure the "Pattern" drop-down menu is set to that.

You can also get this pattern as a pdf, saved here in your Account on EarthFaire.  That option is also on the drop-down menu.
