The Design

Here is what Sue writes:

If you like unique things, then this wrap may appeal to you.

The main body of the wrap comprises basic stitches and has a repeat.

This is worked in rows with the dangling leaves worked at the same time.

The edging leaves forming the 3D effect are NOT sewn on. These are created as a whole and worked as an edging. They will require concentration and an ability to follow higher end intermediate instructions.

The pattern has written instructions, graphs and pictures although not every row as the pattern does repeat. The leaf edging has detailed pictures.

Yarn and Colorways

Being unable to get the exact yarn that Sue used in her original wrap, I emailed with her and came up with this lovely yarn from Knitting Fever. You can see our yarn in the upper right-hand corner of the top photo and again below that.

Called Weave, this is 100% cotton from Laines du Nord.  Each ball gives 382 yards/ 100g.

The colors are dyed in such a manner as to give fairly long color spans.  The 4th photo on this page shows a section of a shawl knit using colorway #5 in Weave and is there to give you a better idea of how it works up.

As the pattern calls for 1236 - 1280 yards (1130 - 1170 m) if gauge is met and we want to be sure you have enough, each kit will include 4 balls.

We offer your choice of two colorways:

1.  #1 includes red, orange, olive, and blush.

2.  #5 includes grape, green. orange, and yellow.

Beads?

No, Sue didn't add beads to this design.  But can't you just see a glowing bit of bling at the end of each leaf?

Anyway, if you would like to get beads, we are offering that option via the drop-down menu labeled "Kit" that you will find under the top photo on this page. That will give you about 240 size 6/0 beads to place where it appeals to you most.

If you have a preference on bead color, tell me.  Otherwise I will choose for you.
