These are special colorways, created for LYS Day 2024!
Here is what the Koigu folks wrote:
This year’s limited edition LYS colourways are inspired by 3 paintings by Maie Landra’s paintings from the 1960s.
Maie is the matriarch and cofounder of Koigu and spent much of her career as a fine artist before her days of hand-painting yarn and creating stunning knit creations started in the 90s. All 3 paintings are egg tempera, which gives the flow and feeling of watercolour, translucence of colour over one another.
Her love of colour and form has been the driving force behind Koigu for 30 years. Maie’s paintings are hung throughout the woolshed and the family house, providing colour inspiration and reminding us daily where Koigu Wool Designs all began!
