The Design

Here is what Lynette writes:

Take a beautiful, soft yarn, some glittering beads, work with a few easy stitches and a special “Little Something Something” is born.

This little cowl is fairly heavily beaded and drapes beautifully around the neck. The stitches are easy; a basic cable, a few yarn-overs and the bramble (trinity) stitch. Tuck it into your coat for a little warmth and a little sparkle, drape it over the collar of your shirt to warm up a cold office and add a little “Something” to your day.

The beads add depth and shaping to the cowl. Though knitted straight from the cast-on up the beaded sections are wider and create a curved edge to the bottom of the cowl.

Yarn and Colorway

Our yarn is not the same as what Lynette used in her original. We show ours in the inset photo in the lower righthand corner of the top picture and again below that.

This yarn is from Laines duNord and is their Cashsilk Light, a delicious blend including 70% Merino Wool, 20% Silk, 10% Cashmere.  Each ball has 131 yards/ 25g.

1. This colorway is Dark Grey, a mostly charcoal colorway with some lighter strands showing through.

2. This is Magenta, a rich wine. Again, some of the threads take the dye a bit lighter so the overall look is a tonal with great depth.

Two balls will be in each kit.

Beads

What is needed is about 500 size 6/0 beads.

If you have an idea for what color bead you want, tell me.  Otherwise I will choose for you.
