I have had my eye on this beauty for a long time now and decided it was beyond time for us to offer it as a kit.

Mind you, the kit is simply yarn -- gorgeous yarn, but only yarn nonetheless.  We offer the option of getting beads with it but there pattern itself doesn't use beads so it would be totally up to you where to put them.

As far as the pattern goes, you must get it from the designer on her Ravelry page here

Am I putting the cart before the horse?  Undoubtedly. So here is the data about this kit:

The Design

This is a stunning piece by verybusymonkey called Luckdragon Shawl.  Here is what the designer writes:

A highly textured shawl worked lengthwise. This design will keep you interested the whole time with its combination of cables, lace and k/p stitch patterns. Looks great in a gradient or more solid/semi-solid yarn.

Originally designed as one of two patterns featured in my Rav group’s annual mystery KAL, this shawl design is now formatted into a traditional, one-file pattern.

Yarn and Colorways

The shawl requires fingering weight yarn, anywhere between 400 - 900 yards (366 - 823 m).  A gradiently dyed skein is recommended.

We did not get the same yarn nor colorway as what you see in the photos of the designer's original shawl. In fact, it is quite different -- a melody of warm fiery colors, instead of the cool ones in the original.  I think it is really striking and perfect to reflect the colors of the season.

Ours is from Freia Fibers, one of their fingering Yarn Bombs, with 860 yards (786m)/ 200g of single ply 100% US Merino Wool (mulesing-free).

And the colorway --- whoosh! --- it blows me away!

Called Junkanoo, it is a bright and brilliant melody of golden yellow into apricot into orange into red.  Happy, warm!

Beads?

If you would like to get beads to add (and remember, you have to decide where and when to add them as this pattern comes without any bead suggestions), we can put together a 35g container for you.

That option is via the drop-down menu.

If you have an idea or preference on bead color, tell me.  Otherwise I will choose for you.
