Another truly lovely design by Nim Teasdale.

The Design

To quote Nim:

Lyrata is a flowing semi-circular shawl with a mesmerising textured lace pattern which expands as it ripples toward the outer edge.

The knit/purl stitch pattern is worked both sides, however all the lace is worked on the right side only, to keep the knit as relaxing as possible.

The pattern includes some flexibility as to yardage. Several sections can be skipped to use less yarn, or be repeated to use more. If you still have yarn left at the end, you can also extend the last few rows. Adapts to a range of approx 600m/650y to 900m/990y of lace to fingering weight yarn, or more if adding extra wedges.

The design suits lace to fingering yarn, in solid, semi-solid, gradient or subtle speckle varieties.

******

The yardage requirements (as you see above) are rather flexible though Nim recommends a minium of about 650 yards (600m) for the shawl.
