Andree Beddoe  has designed some extremely intriuging pieces and one that has caught by eye is her Picnic.

Combining various knitting techniques including brioche and short-rowing plus an option to add beads, the overall piece is not only interesting to create but a true masterpiece when completed.

I was especially caught by the yarns and colors shown on Ravelry by TherapeuticKnits (Rav name) that she named Freia Your Mind. 

She took three colorways of Freia Yarns' Shawl Balls and combined them in such a way that the piece is literally breathtaking.  I contacted her and asked to show her photos (she said yes).  I recommend you read her notes on her Ravelry page here as well for how she used these gradients.

The Design

Here is what Andree writes about the design itself:

Picnic is a part of the Knitted Embroidery (KE) family. It is a top down design that starts with a semi-circle, and through a series of symmetrical short row sections, it is transformed into a crescent shape.

For texture, I added brioche in the center, followed with the Thistle flower KE element, aPicnd finished with a beautiful brioche leaf border, which is knit continuously without breaking the yarns.

Yarn and Colorways

Our kits consist of three Shawl Balls from Friea. Each Shawl Ball is a continuous run of yarn with very gradually changing hues. 

We elected to go with Freia's new fingering weight shawl balls.  These have a bit more yardage (456 yards (416m)/ 100g instead of the 430 yards (393m) of the original ones) and are three ply 100% US Shaniko mulesing-free superwash Merino.

The colorways have the same rich and vibrant loooooooong color runs.

Your kit will give you one each of:

1. Dirty Hippy : main colors run from turquoise into fuchsia into orange into gold (or vice versa depending on how the ball is wound).

2. Cochilla : fuchsia depending into rich wine and magenta (or vice versa)

3. Aloha : blue into turquoise into green into yellow (or vice versa)

Beads

The beads are optional but will be included in each kit.  What would be needed is about 36 size 6/0 beads.

We will include extra.
