Oh wow!
Boo Knits has done it again.
A stunning lace shawl, dripping with beads, Snow Angel is a project to relish.
Here is how the amazing designer describes it:
This little crescent shaped shawl has been designed to be knit in laceweight yarn giving you a fine and open lace with beads that float in the fabric like ice crystals. The lace pattern and shape of the shawl reminds me of when my children were small and we used to make angels in the snow. Okay, maybe we still do it but I guess you could keep my secret!
The pattern calls for between 601 - 820 yards (550 - 750 m) of lace weight yarn. It could also be knit in fingering weight but a less lacy effect will be produced.
It is knit from the top down, with an adjustable stocking stitch body. You will find it easy enough to knit your shawl to a size that suits you.
This pattern contains charts and also full written instructions. The beading is, as always, optional. If you choose to add beads to this piece, figure on either size 5/0s or 6/0s, about 530 of them for the small size, 570 for the medium, 610 for the large and the extra large uses 650 beads.
There are so many glorious possibilities! Take a look at some of these project pages on Ravelry for great inspiration.
Think of this shawl pattern as a marvelous palette, for your colors to dance and sing -- and for a lovely masterpiece to have at the end.
