This is a delightful shawlette from Rose Beck, a lovely knit that is relatively simple and oh-so-very-lovely.
Here is how Rose describes it:
"A golden shawlette with a floral mesh body and ridged border that gives a vintage feel.
"This piece is a perfect wrap for chilly evenings.
"The narrow crescent shape is worked top-down and achieved with rapid increasing at each edge, allowing you to choose your final size as you knit. The sample is shown in Mini Mica, a shimmery fingering wool/silk yarn from Saffron Dyeworks, but any weight yarn may be used (adjust yardage and gauge accordingly)."
And bear in mind, there is of course no need to keep it a golden wrap, except metaphorically. I've seen it done up in a rich rose color and it is stunning -- there is no limit to hues.
Skill level: Intermediate. Both written and charted instructions are provided.
SIZES :Small (Medium)
MATERIALS: The ones photographed here used 450 (625) yds fingering-weight yarn.
A wonderful piece!
What we offer here is a printed-out hard-copy of this pattern, four pages on heavy weight paper, slid into a sheet protector.
A beautiful design to play with -- this one really tickled my fancy!
