A wonderful sock pattern by Sivia.

Here is what she says:

"These short but very sweet toe-up socks begin with my favorite round toe and feature a beaded openwork rib, a sculpturally fitted back, and just a hint of beaded ruffle at the top.

"Inspired by a wonderful family reunion that took place in July 2010 near Tallulah Falls in North Georgia, the first sock was improvised and finished on the plane trip home. The first pair was a gift for my mother and her pair contain no beads, but my pair had to have them! The beads, inset into the openwork rib pattern in the front and around the top rim of the sock, give an impression of sparkling water drops that catch the light now and then.. a lovely effect."

A sock after my own heart!

You will need sport weight sock yarn, about 350 yards, plus approximately 208 (276, 344) size 6/0 beads (depending on the size sock you are planning) or 4mm megatamas.

Instructions are given for the crochet hook bead method (so make sure you have one of those very thin crochet hooks, about 0.6mm), plus how to work heel stitch over the heel turn stitches, and how to make toe-up length adjustments based on individual row gauge.

These are special.
