Timotej is another beautiful design by Linnea Ornstein, simple and very lovely indeed.

The Design
Here is what Linnea writes:
Whether winter or spring, there’s nothing like a warming cuff around your wrist to fend off the cold wind or snow, and to avoid gaps between your sleeve and your glove.
Timotej is a springlike cuff or wrist warmer project for leftover yarns or for some pretty mini skeins. The wrist warmers will also make sure your wrists and hands are warm and comfy until the spring arrives properly.
Knit using garter stitch and short-rows, it’s a quick and fun knit and an excellent practice if you’re new to short-row knitting.
Timotej is the Swedish name for timothy grass, or cat’s-tail. It’s a very common grass in Swedish meadows and is a true sign that the summer is coming.
Yarn and Colorways
We have some great yarns for this! They aren't the same as what Linnea used for her original but they will knit up beautifully. You can see our yarn set in the upper lefthand corner of the top photo on this page and again below that.
Linnea says in the pattern that one needs about 64m of the base color (that's about 70 yards) and 28m (31 yards) of the contrast color.

A. Our base yarn is from Katia, their United Socks, 75% wool + 25% nylon, with 109 yards/ 25g. The colorway is a pure and simple cream.

B. Our contrast yarn is from Urth Yarns, a version of their fingering weight Uneek yarn. This is from a kit they have put together (Uneek Sock Kit Mini), originally intended to create self-striping socks for children. The strikping has been scaled down.
This yarn is also very well suited for lightweight self-striping accessorries and garments.
Each kit consists of two 30g pre-wound balls of 75% superwash merino + 25% nylon and gives 2 x 125 yards (115m).
Although you likely can make a pair of these wristlets with just one of the balls, having two will allow you to get them to match.
This is colorway MM59, a rich blend of jewel tones. I see purple, lilac, sunset, amber, gold, taupe, and a bit of lime.

A few other thoughts:
Each kit will include one Uneek Sock Kit Mini + one small ball of United Socks in cream.
This will give you enough of the background color (the cream) for one pair of wristlets and enough of the striped yarn for two (you'll just have to search your stash for a second background yarn).
Or!
Use the sock kit to knit a child's pair of socks -- a free pattern for a child's sock is included via a QR code.
Or!
Use the sock kit plus the cream yarn to make an adult pair of socks -- you would likely need both and you'd have to decide where to use what. But heck, that is a start at designing, no?
