Wow!
A wonderful scarf design, perfect to add warmth and beauty to grey days.
This is one of three new scarf designs by Sharon Dreifuss of She-knits --- we're so pleased to be able to offer these!
Here is how she describes Twist and Flounce:
"Twist and Flounce is the first pattern in She-Knits Short and Sweet Series (the 2nd and now 3rd in the series, Let’s Neck, Kerfluffle), have just been released) It is one of the those super fast instantly satisfying knits that you can work up in a couple of hours. One skein of bulky weight yarn + U.S. #10 needles = one happy knitter….and wearer.
"My guess/hope is that you will be knitting multiples of this very easy to follow pattern that is written out both in complete text and is also charted. You choose the format that is best for you to work from."
I love it.
MATERIALS: ~ 1 skein (approx 120 yds each 100 grams) bulky weight yarn that achieves gauge
~ 1 U.S. #10 (I used a circular needle though there is no circular knitting)
~ 1 Tapestry needle to accommodate bulky yarn for one small easy seam on insertion loop
~ 2 stitch markers
~ 2 safety pins or yarn scraps to mark one particular row
Gauge –approx 16 sts.x 18-20 rows= 4”i pattern stitch blocked on #10 needle or appropriate needle to get gauge. Totally exact gauge is not needed if you are satisfied with the look of your swatch and it compares to main picture on pattern
Size - Blocked from tip of flounce to top of finished and seamed loop: 26.5 length x 4”width
So grab some yarn -- you might have it in stash or use this as a marvelous excuse to go yarn shopping. Scarves are very versatile gauge-wise and you can likely use bulky or worsted or even thinner held double -- and make a wonderfully warm and lovely creation!
