A most unique design from Catie.
She writes:
"This gorgeous cowl is knit in a woven (and reversible) cable pattern with a border of sparkling beads. It's made in a flat strip, then you have the option of making your own crocheted beaded buttons or using purchased buttons. Flip it over as you wish for a versatile and fashionable accessory."
For her original, Catie used 200 yards of a DK weight yarn, and 550 beads for the cowl (96 extra if you plan to make your own buttons). [The beads in the original were simply round size 6/0s. You can use any that will fit your yarn.]
You will want to use size 7 (US) needles or whatever size will give you a gauge in stockinette of 20 stitches/26 rows to 4"
The finished size here was 4 1/2" x 28".
The first photo to the upper right here shows the piece "flipped" over once, to make a fancy moebius.
The first one below shows it flipped over twice or more for a twisted neckpiece.
And the last picture below has it turned around to show off the buttons.
Easy and quite versatile indeed!
