Does it look like simple stripes? Look again. This hat uses shadow knitting. As light hits the garter ridges, contrasting triangles appear atop the striped band creating the look of shadows passing across the knitting. It's an easy technique that gives magical results.

Maureen rates this pattern as Intermediate.

It requires double knitting weight yarn, 50 grams (about 125 yards) of the main color and 25 grams (60 yards) each of three Contrast colors.

Knit in ONE PIECE with NO SEWING.
